Power Outages Hit the Area as Storms Pass Through

Updated Tuesday at 12:45p

As of noon Tuesday, fewer than 200 We Energies customers in Kenosha, Racine and Walworth counties were still waiting for power to be restored following Monday night's outages.

At its peak, over 10,000 customers in the three-county area had lost power.

In the City of Kenosha, power-related calls emptied fire houses for a time as rigs were sent out to deal with sparking wires and downed lines and limbs.

At the Kenosha Regional Airport, a peak wind gust of 41 mph was recorded.

The storms drenched parts of the WGTD listening area, but other spots remained dry, with dark clouds and strong winds being the main features.

NWS says thunderstorm chances are in the forecast through Saturday, with the best chance for severe weather on Wednesday.
