A Racine County man in his 70s has died as a result of complications related to the virus, according to a news release from Racine County.

"We are so saddened by this death and our heartfelt condolences go out to the family, friends and community," said Margaret Gesner, Health Officer for the Central Racine County Health Dept. "Our health department continues to work tirelessly and employ all possible resources to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus and its impact on our community," she said.

State officials Friday afternoon reported 37 deaths, with six new deaths, including three in Milwaukee County, two in Ozaukee County and one in Dane County. The Racine County death presumably would boost the statewide total to 38.
