(WGTD)---The judge in the case of a man accused of killing an off-duty Racine police officer during a robbery at a Racine bar and restaurant last year has set down some restrictions in advance of the trial.

In a written ruling, Judge Wynne Laufenberg says she will prohibit courtroom spectators from displaying signs or placards or wearing any clothes or colors that express either sympathy or support for one side or the other.

26-year-old Dalquavis Ward is scheduled to go on trial early next month in the killing of John Hetland.

Laufenberg’s ban extends to any visible pins or emblems.
