An attempted traffic stop ended late yesterday afternoon with a man being shot by Racine Police. State investigators say the shooting victim died on the way to the hospital. The officers, who are 15 and 16 year veterans of the department, were not injured. Sergeant Adam Malacara, the department's Public Information Officer said the officers were attempting to make the stop in the 14-hundred block of Villa Street at about 4 o'clock when a man jumped from the vehicle. The officers pursued the man to the 14-hundred block of Park Avenue, where the shooting occurred. Malacara said the man pulled a gun and aimed it at the police who were chasing him. Malacara said---as is the case in all officer involved shootings---an outside agency will conduct the investigation:
