On-Ramp Fatal; Charges Expected in Double Homicide; Plea in Abuse Case

Mt. Pleasant---A car collided with a semi at an on-ramp to I-94 in Racine County Sunday. The driver of the car died during extrication efforts, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Dept. Authorities said the semi had been in the process of crossing the east bound lanes of Highway 11 at about 9 Sunday morning when the car broadsided the truck, becoming wedged under the trailer. A Sheriff's deputy witnessed the crash. Authorities said alcohol did not appear to be a factor.

Kenosha---The suspect in the Thanksgiving night shooting deaths of two brothers outside of a bar in Twin Lakes could appear in court as early as Monday. The  25 year-old Trevor man is being held in the Kenosha County Jail on a probation and parole hold. At the time of the shooting, the suspect had been out of jail on bond in a case from Walworth County involving a strangulation and beating. The victims in the shooting have been identified as 31 year-old Kenneth and 28 year-old Richard Samuel of Twin Lakes. The suspect was pulled over and arrested as he was on his way to a relative's home in Hayward.   

Kenosha---A former Unified kindergarten teacher who's accused of roughing up a student is expected to enter a plea in court Monday. 56 year-old Lynn Luisier is facing a single count of child abuse. According to the criminal complaint, the alleged abuse occurred in a hallway at Pleasant Prairie Elementary last school year. It was caught on security camera video and was also witnessed by a custodian. Since the charge was filed, several parents, including some from Hartland where Luisier previously taught, have come forward to allege inappropriate behavior. 

Racine---A bus-load of pro-immigrant rights activists from Minnesota is scheduled to stop in Racine Monday afternoon. The protesters are on their way to Washington, but will take a short side trip to Paul Ryan's office in downtown Racine for an hour-long march and rally beginning at 3:30.
