Rising Elkhorn High School Football Star Michael Lois Seriously Injured

Michael Lois (Center), injured

The Elkhorn community is rallying behind one of its brightest football stars. Michael Lois, the 6-foot-4 258 pound standout junior defensive lineman at Elkhorn High School, suffered a serious non-football related injury last weekend. According to scanner activity, Lois allegedly jumped into a pool head first and became numb on the left side of his body.  Lois committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes football program just a few weeks ago.

Several different fundraisers have been started in the community, including one by the 5th grade football team. The 5th grade team will be selling t-shirts in Lois’s honor with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Lois family.

Lois is still hospitalized at the Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. No timetable has been set for his release.
