(WGTD)---The recount of votes cast in Racine Unified's Apr. 7th long-term facilities referendum continued Thursday afternoon at Festival Hall.
The tedious process was expected to end either Thursday evening or sometime Friday.
Given the nature of the game, some observers said it's too difficult to come up with an accurate hourly or even a daily running total of where things stand.
The referendum originally appeared to have won by five votes but numerous ballots have been tossed during the recount by a random selection method after officials discovered improperly filled out absentee voter forms and other problems.
The recount, now in its fifth day, is being held at Festival Hall in order to give workers and observers a chance to spread out. Masks and name tags are required. About 60 workers and observers were present at mid-afternoon Thursday.
