Salem Lakes Fatality; Hostage Details; Homicide Update

(WGTD)---Kenosha police have identified the victim of a weekend homicide as a 23-year-old Gurnee man, Malik Boyd. He was shot after apparently leaving the Rain Bar at 30th Ave. and Roosevelt Rd. Saturday morning just after two. The department is asking anyone who may have seen or heard an argument or a disturbance in the area to contact them at 262-605-5203. (WGTD)---Homicide charges will be sought after one person died and another was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash in Salem Lakes around 8 o’clock Sunday night. According to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department---a 42-year-old woman died---and---a 43-year-old man was seriously injured--- when they were thrown from their motorcycle after it failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into a ditch on Camp Lake Road. Both were from Illinois. Alcohol was a factor in the accident---and---the Sheriff’s Department is requesting homicide charges against the 42-year-old man who was operating the motorcycle. No names have yet been released.

(WGTD)---A brief-hostage taking incident in Kenosha Saturday morning was the result of a dispute rooted in the defendant's drinking habits. 42-year-old Ricardo Torres has been charged with false imprisonment, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, disorderly conduct and obstruction. According to the criminal complaint, Torres held his wife and 17-year-old son at gunpoint in the family's home at 7624 40th Ave. and refused to allow them to leave. The son texted a friend and had him contact police on his behalf. Torres reportedly became enraged after realizing that his house was surrounded. He allegedly told his wife to lie about what had happened. Torres exited the home and was arrested. Police recovered a fully-loaded handgun.
