Saturday Night Bar Closing Leads to Crash, Brawl in Downtown Kenosha

Kenosha---Two men appeared in court Monday for their roles in a brawl that took place outside of a popular downtown tavern at closing time Saturday night.

According to a report in the Kenosha News, Tyler Gilpin and Michael Sanders, both 21, were charged with battery and disorderly conduct and released on signature bonds.

Police said two groups of men were fighting outside of Fec's Place on 6th Ave. A 35 year-old man suffered a minor stab wound. His assailant fled before police arrived.

About an hour earlier and several blocks to the south, a suspected drunk driver failed to negotiate a slight curve in the road and slammed into a storefront, smashing a window, damaging a brick wall and knocking merchandise off of a shelf.

"Equinox" owner Maria Caravati told the paper that the business would be open as usual on Tuesday.
