Kenosha---Heroin users are being warned to be extra careful, as police have responded to six overdoses in the last few days, including one that was fatal.
In a news release, the department says a spike of overdoses can indicate a batch of "bad" heroin in the area. "The KPD does not condone drug use, but the department is warning heroin users and family members to get help as soon as possible for themselves or their loved ones," the statement says.
Police are currently investigating the incidents in an attempt to determine the source of the heroin. Anyone with information is asked to contact the KPD detective bureau at 262- 605-5203. Callers that wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 262-656-7333.
