Republican State Representative Tom Weatherston of Caledonia is retiring and won't seek re-election this fall.
The 68 year-old Republican was first elected to the 62nd District seat in 2012.
In a press release, Weatherston said: “it's time to take life a little easier."
He cited a number of different reasons for his decision, most of them personal, including the death of his wife in 2016 from a rare type of blood cancer, the birth of a grandson, a new engagement, and the construction of a new home.
