Sturtevant Conference Center Lauded

What some might view as the frosting on the cake has been proposed for one of the few remaining properties in the Renaissance Business Park in Sturtevant.

Local physician Marc Kennedy and his wife are proposing to build a conference center complete with restaurants and office space. The preliminary plans were reviewed by village officials Thursday night. "It really suits a need out there," said Village Administrator Mary Cole, who added that tenants have been looking for additional restaurants.

The 49-thousand square foot building would include three large conference rooms, up to six restaurants, and second floor office space.

The site is located along Highway 20.

There’s no timetable for beginning construction.

A second office building has been proposed to the east of the Kennedy's project.  Sturtevant based Horizon Retail Construction's plan was scheduled for review at Thursday's Plan Commission meeting, but was delayed at the company's request.
