Kenosha---No arrests have been made in connection with the theft of an SUV which wound up in the retention pond in front of Meijer's off of Green Bay Road early Thursday morning.
The site of the nearly submerged vehicle--with its headlights still on--sent firefighters and divers into the water in a frantic search for victims, both inside and outside of the vehicle. They found no one.
The alarm came in just before 5:30.
Emergency personnel who entered the water had to be decontaminated upon exit due to a large amount of gasoline that had leaked from the vehicle's fuel tank. The DNR was called in to evaluate the situation.
Police said the SUV had been stolen from a site in Pleasant Prairie.
