Updates on Two Fatal Traffic Accidents

We have updates on those two serious traffic accidents that happened on Wednesday.  The 38-year-old Salem woman who was killed in a head-on collision on Highway C (Wilmot Road) in Bristol has been identified as Robin R. Jones. Her 23-month-old child was injured in that accident. The 32-year-old Antioch, Illinois man also injured in that accident is Nathan Woodmaster. It appears that Jones lost control of her car on a curve, left the roadway and then returned to the road before hitting Woodmaster’s car. The accident is still under investigation---but---alcohol does NOT appear to be a factor.

Also---one of the three teenage girls involved in an accident at the intersection of Highway U and 2 Mile Road in Yorkville has died. She has been identified as 17-year-old Taylor Skendziel. The other two girls in her car are Charlee Warner and Sadie Regep---both 15. All of the girls were students at Union Grove High School. The driver of the other car involved---Samuel Han from Kenosha County---apparently failed to yield the right-of-way at a STOP sign at the intersection. This accident also remains under investigation.
