WGTD Radio Theater to Broadcast From Lake Lawn Resort Saturday Morning

The 17-time award winning WGTD Radio Theater, now in its 15h season, will broadcast another installment of Orson Welles, in “The Kane Shadow: Send in the Clowns.”: on Saturday, Sept. 28th at 11:15 a.m.

This is episode number 122, in this long running radio theater series, and will be broadcast live before a studio audience in the Great Room at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, Wisconsin.

The Delavan area does not disappoint with its abundance of stories and legends from the days of the circuses that used to winter there at the end of the nineteenth century.  In their next show, the WGTD Radio Theater and the 91.1 Players once again bring in Orson Welles to investigate the rumors of a local, hidden colony of escaped circus folk stalking a damsel-in-distress in “The Kane Shadow: Send in the Clowns”

According to Mike Ullstrup, co-writer and producer, “Yes, we found yet another little known story in Delavan!  And this one brings in the story of Haunchyville, its little people, and its “protector”.  Orson and his trusty secretary, Jeannette, come to Delavan and figure out just who this mysterious stalker is…or do they?”

Steve Brown, the other co-writer and producer chimed in, “It’s been a lot of fun over the years developing the characters that surround Orson: his secretary (Jeannette), his bartender (Rodney), and his waitress (Florence).  In this next show, we explore and see a bit more the relationship between Orson and Jeannette as they descend onto Lake Lawn Resort and make the Frontier Restaurant and bar their headquarters during their stay.”

Stars from the 91.1 Players include:  Cameron Spencer (as Orson Welles), Mike Bavido, Rene Bushelle, Siegfried Christoph, Carol Knudson, Susan Lien, Ann-Marie Schmid, and Peyton Spencer.  Rene Bushelle will direct this show with live sound effects performed by Mike Ullstrup.

Show admission for this broadcast at Lake Lawn resort is $10 per person, and includes a $5 discount coupon to be used the day of the show for a breakfast or lunch entree or buffet in the Frontier Restaurant or for a lunch entree in the Lookout Bar & Eatery.
