Censure Request to be Discussed in Open RSB Session

Sept. 17, 2026 10a

(WGTD/WPR)---A request to censure a Racine School Board member for an offensive comment he allegedly made on social media against several women will be placed on the agenda of the board’s next business meeting later this month.

Michael Bellagio, purportedly acting online under the name Mike Vincent, allegedly referred to Kelly Gallaher, chair of the Democratic Party of Racine County; State Representative Angelina Cruz and local reporters Denise Lockwood and Heather Asiyanbi by using a slang phrase with an acronym that spells out a profane slur for women. Bellagio is running against Cruz in the November election.

The censure request was discussed in a closed session of the school board this week.

Afterward, Board President Jane Barbian told WGTD the matter will come up for discussion in open session on September 28th.
