A non-profit that was borne over ten years ago at Gateway Technical College and continues to thrive is taking a few steps forward this week.
The National Coalition of Certification Centers links two and four-year schools, industry partners in the transportation, aviation and energy sectors and standardized training for specific skill sets.
Students wind up earning certificates for their resumes. For industry, the end result is a measure of clarity and efficiency in the hiring process.
This week on several of Gateway’s campuses, certificate teachers from around the country are gathering to train additional instructors. Also, representatives from partner schools are conferencing.
Speaking on WGTD’s Morning Show, Roger Todiefsky, the executive director of "NC3' said that partner schools across the nation are expected to issue well over 100,000 certificates.
The genesis for what eventually became the Coalition of Certification Centers was a partnership some 11 years ago between Gateway and Snap-On Tools. To this day, Snap-On remains an active partner in the process.
This week's coalition activities has brought well over 300 educators to Gateway's campuses, according to Gateway President Bryan Albrecht.
