(WGTD)---According to the latest campaign finance reports, Samantha Kerkman has outraised her opponent in the Kenosha County Executive’s race by some $6,000.
Kerkman’s report indicated her campaign has received just over $66,000 while Rebecca Matoska-Mentink’s campaign has pulled in just under $60,000.
Kerkman’s largest contributor is the Kenosha County Republican Party. That group pitched in $10,000. Kerkman is a long-time Republican State Representative.
Matoska-Mentink’s largest contributor was the UAW Wisconsin State Political Action Committee at a little over $3,000. Matoska-Mentink is a Democrat.
The candidates are seeking to succeed Jim Kreuser who’s retiring from the position.
The election is Tuesday.
On the expenditure side of the ledger, both campaigns were assisted by consultants. Matoska-Mentink spent $10,000 on a political consulting firm by the name of “Nation Consulting.” Kerkman spent an equal amount with “Flex Point Media”, and another $5,000 on “Rally Digital,” a consulting firm owned by Matt Walker, the son of former Gov. Scott Walker.
The finance reports also show that the local Republican Party contributed a total of $8,000 split between nine candidates who are running for seats on the Kenosha County Board. By contrast, the state Democratic Party contributed to one county board campaign, donating just under $400.
All of the offices on Tuesday’s ballot are non-partisan.
